After studying chemistry at the University of Bordeaux, Laurie achieved a PhD in physical chemistry at the Institute of Molecular Sciences, during which she was able to specialize in theoretical/computational/quantum chemistry. She had the opportunity to take part in international collaborations, notably with Belgium, Italy and Spain. Whether during her various internships or during her PhD, Laurie has always been keen to work on environmental or biomedical projects.

At Emulseo, Laurie employs her in-depth comprehension of surfactant properties and droplet microfluidic behavior. This expertise enables her to provide valuable support, advice, and assistance to Emulseo’s customers.

Loïc Pichavant

R&D

PhD

As a Chemical engineer, Loïc specialized in polymer chemistry during his thesis at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne. For nearly ten years, Loïc worked on the synthesis of polymers with controlled architectures for biomedical applications (vectorization, drug delivery …) at the Laboratoire de Chimie des Polymères Organiques (LCPO) and is co-author more than 20 publications and one patent.

Jérôme Buchoux

Production

After studying engineering chemistry, Jérôme has begun his career in fats and oils extraction and purification. Then he continued his professional experience in cosmetic materials process development and industrialization.

He joined the Emulseo team in April 2022, where he is working as production operations manager.

He is in charge of the chemical reactor where the magic happens: thanks to Jerome’s attention to details, the surfactants syntheses are all perfect to meet our customers satisfaction.

Estelle Andre

Microfluidic applications

PhD

After studying chemistry in an engineering school in Toulouse (ENSIACET), Estelle specialized in droplet-based microfluidics during her PhD at IFP Energies nouvelles in Rueil-Malmaison.

Then she joined CEA Grenoble to work as a post-doc on pancreas-on-chip.

Her different experiences gave Estelle a strong interest in microfluidics for biotechnology applications.

Roxane Le Maistre

As the youngest member of the team, Roxane recently graduated and right after, joined Emulseo in October 2024. Originally from Martinique, she moved to France to pursue a HND in Chemistry. Particularly drawn by the formulation field, she wanted to deepen her knowledge and therefore pursued a bachelor’s degree in dispersed environment formulation. Finally, her strong curiosity for innovative sciences and new technologies naturally led her to Emulseo, where she now contributes to the development of advanced formulations.

Quentin LACOUME

Organic & macromolecular synthesis

On completion of a master degree in Organic Chemistry applied to the Living at the university of Poitiers, Quentin is specialized in the conception and characterization of complex organic molecules used in the study and the manipulation of living organisms. Having had the opportunity to realise diverse experiences during his academic career and with a strong attraction to innovatives technologies, Quentin joined EMULSEO’s team in September 2023 where he is dedicated to the synthesis of macromolecular organic molecules.

Valérie Scappaticci

CFO

Valérie Scappaticci graduated from the EM Lyon business school with an MBA (finance and accounting), she is also a certified public accountant and auditor.. She worked for 25 years in auditing and management consulting at EY and PWC, in France and abroad (Australia, Spain). As Associate Director at EY, she focused on accompanying innovative companies in their strategic development, through mergers, acquisitions, and IPOs.

In 2013, determined to take up an entrepreneurial challenge, she co-founded Aelis Farma, a biotech company, and was initially its Chief Executive Officer, before switching to a CFO role in 2017. She was key in enabling the company to structure itself from a start up company to a listed entity, in securing the financing required by its development programs, in establishing a major manufacturing partnership, and in listing the company onto the French regulated stock market in 2022.

In 2023, she chose to invest her energy into helping innovative startup companies in facing the challenges of fund raising and structuring of their activities. Emulseo was a logical first choice since Valérie has been a member of its strategic committee since 2019, and is also one of its shareholders.

After completing her education in Business and Management, Justine swiftly honed her expertise in international project management and communication through roles with two prominent companies in the United States (1 year) and England (3 years).

With about 10 years as a dedicated Project Manager, she has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in orchestrating diverse projects with precision and efficiency. Justine’s passion for communication and marketing drives her to continually expand her skill set, particularly in fostering the growth of small to mid-sized enterprises. Her commitment to excellence and adaptability make her a valuable asset in any professional setting.
